Mark leads VanWest Partners’ Capital Development and investor client initiatives, with an emphasis on institutional, private equity, and family office investors. Prior to joining VanWest, Mark was Founding Principal at Permit Capital, advising investor clients on joint-venture partnerships, acquisitions, and equity formulation strategies. Previously, he worked with Stan Kroenke, directing family investments across a broad spectrum of real estate asset classes. Mark established his CRE investment career with JLL. As JLL’s Managing Director of Investor Services, Mark was a national lead establishing long-standing relations and executing capital initiatives on behalf of some of the most respected investors throughout the United States.
Mark’s entrepreneurial approach combined with institutional discipline has allowed for the successful execution of investment transactions and asset management in 15 markets throughout the U.S., with aggregate value exceeding $4 billion.
Since joining the VanWest Partners team, Mark has been responsible for identifying and developing strategic partnerships through his aforementioned initiatives. His efforts have successfully fostered strong relationships and secured partnerships with a multitude of family offices and prominent institutions.
Mark earned a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University. He has made contributions to a variety of organizations including Urban Land Institute, United Way, NAREIM and NAIOP. Mark also serves on the Board for Trout Unlimited, supporting initiatives to enhance America’s great fisheries. Mark is married with a grown son and daughter, who reside in Washington and Texas. His family inspires his conservation interest through their love of nature and the outdoors.
